Why Your Estimates Are Losing You Jobs

Most moving companies spend way too long on estimates, and still lose the job. The problem isn't your pricing. It's how you present it.

A professional estimate does three things: builds trust, sets expectations, and makes it easy to say yes. Here's the template that does all three.

The 7-Part Estimate Template

1. Company Header

Your logo, business name, license number, phone, and email. This isn't optional,it's your first impression.

2. Client Information

Full name, address, phone, and email. Shows you're organized and taking this seriously.

3. Scope of Work

Be specific. "Install new kitchen backsplash" is better than "kitchen work." List every task you'll perform.

4. Materials & Labor Breakdown

Transparency wins. Show what materials cost and what labor costs. Customers respect honesty.

5. Timeline

When will you start? When will you finish? Set realistic expectations and stick to them.

6. Payment Terms

How much upfront? When is the balance due? What payment methods do you accept? Remove all friction.

7. Terms & Conditions

Warranty information, change order policy, and cancellation terms. Protect yourself and your client.

The Bottom Line

A great estimate isn't just a price,it's a sales tool. Use this template and watch your close rate climb.
